About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Character Artist with extensive knowledge of human anatomy and motion. This role is integral to our mission of delivering a groundbreaking character creation experience. You will be collaborating with a world-class team and will be responsible for developing and refining character models and blendshapes that allow for extensive customization and high quality deformation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and create high-quality, realistic character models and blendshapes with an emphasis on anatomical accuracy and realistic motion.
• Support artists to ensure muscle and tissue simulations are accurate and realistic.
• Collaborate closely with our world-class rigging team to ensure all character models deform naturally and realistically.
• Ensure that clothing is properly tailored to the character models.
• Collaborate with internal character artists and technical artists to provide tools and systems that enhance their creative capabilities.
• Contribute to the overall artistic vision and direction.

Your Qualifications
• Expert knowledge of human anatomy and biomechanics
• Expert in high-fidelity, photo-realistic 3D modeling / sculpting
• Expert in high-fidelity, photo-realistic texturing
• Experience creating game resolution topology supporting deformation and rigging
• Experience creating clothing and apparel for characters
• Experience with at least one game engine (e.g. Unreal, Frostbite, Unity).
• Experience in Maya, Z-Brush, and Substance Painter

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
