The role
As a Slingshot analytics team member, you will play a crucial role in driving business intelligence. Reporting to the Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for leveraging data to gain valuable insights into player behavior and their interactions with our games and features. With a thoughtful and inquisitive approach, you will utilize data modeling techniques to examine and understand player engagement. Your insights will be instrumental in guiding the design of games, platforms, and live services, aiming to enhance acquisition, retention, and monetization for Slingshot.
Responsibilities:
• Strong statistical and analytical skills with SQL, including pulling and using data to identify and drive critical business decisions.
• Share, present, and promote actionable insights discovered through analytics efforts to improve product feature design and user experiences.
• Respond to a variety of on-demand ad-hoc analytical requests as needed.
• Blend analytical rigor with product knowledge to accomplish deep dives (as needed) and provide actionable recommendations for product teams.
• Use different analysis techniques and model trends in our data to predict how new content, features, and campaigns will affect the economy, performance, and player experience.
• Develop analysis frameworks to measure and evaluate the impact of features, systems, and promotions.
• Use exploratory data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data sets and validate your results.
• Develop player clusters based on behavioral patterns, which will be used to customize features and content and improve the player experience.
• Translate problems into structured analyses or data products that create applicable insights that maximize value.
• Partner with engineers and feature owners to design and set up robust telemetry for Slingshot Games that enables high-quality analysis.
• Ensure a high degree of thoughtfulness and quality in all projects and that processes are adopted and best practices are shared.
• Analyze A/B tests for features, events, and promotions, explaining results clearly and concisely.
Basic Qualifications:
• BA or BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• 4+ years' experience in a product analytics role using data to help guide decisions, preferably in a consumer products-oriented industry - gaming, social networks, or entertainment.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data mining, machine learning, or statistical modeling
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization using tools like Python, R, Looker, Tableau, etc.
• SQL skills, including experience querying complex datasets on a platform such as Snowflake/BigQuery.
• Analyzing A/B Tests and determining statistical significance in A/B testing.
• Experience presenting to people at different levels of business and technical expertise, including the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
