With studios located in Los Angeles and Vancouver, Ripple Effect has been dedicated to the Battlefield franchise since our founding as DICE LA in 2013. We created Battlefield 2042's Portal, and have supported DICE on every Battlefield game since Battlefield 4.
Now, we're looking for new team members to help us craft the next Battlefield.
We are looking for a Lead Character Artist like you, who is passionate about creating high quality, realistic characters and is keen to lead a team of artists. You will report to our Studio Line Director of Art who is based in Los Angeles. We are considering on-site and hybrid working options in Vancouver.
What you'll do:
• Sculpt high-resolution characters
• Create clean game topology, UV's and textures
• Collaborate with Production to manage the character art team's daily activities
• Support character design
• Work with Art Director to drive and maintain high visual quality of character models
• Partner with engineers and tech artists to develop an character art pipeline
• Mentor the internal and external character teams through verbal and written feedback
• Deliver feedback to outsourcing partners
What we are looking for:
• 5+ years of character lead experience within a game production environment
• Experience with anatomy, weight and silhouette
• Maya or similar 3D modeling software skills
• Expert sculpting skills using Zbrush
• Experience of PBR texture/material workflows
• Experience with Marvelous designer
• Experience with photogrammetry
• Understanding of rigging and skinning
• Military gear & hardware knowledge is a bonus
• Experience with collaboration with other artists, designers, and programmers

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.
EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
