As a QA Development Manager for Battlefield, you will help oversee QA project planning and execution with your studio partners. Collaborating with development teams and QA peers, you will coordinate schedules and budgets, strategize tests, and manage project metrics. You will be an essential part of the knowledge transfer process and communication with the game team and partner groups. In partnership with QA leaders across Battlefield, you will work towards enhancing QA practices, sharing expertise, and advocating for game design and implementation.
Overview

QA Development Managers should combine a project management background with people management skills. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure project deliverables are completed punctually and within budget while upholding Battlefield's standards. Additionally, you will improve the operational effectiveness of the QA effort by evaluating current quality assurance practices and integrating new QA strategies. You will participate in department level and operational efficiency plans. Your role will also involve managing, mentoring, and supporting the local Analyst team. Monitoring performance and providing measurable feedback to direct reports is crucial. You will help your team's careers and promote working relationships within the QA department, the QA project team, and external partners.

You will report to QA Management based in the Ripple Effect studio in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities
• Oversee operational delivery of major aspects of a AAA title from conception to post-launch.
• Build and guide an embedded team of QA Analysts, focusing on hiring, mentoring, and professional development.
• Collaborate with analysts and game feature development teams to define requirements and specifications.
• Anticipate bottlenecks, escalating to management, prioritizing tasks, balancing needs against technical constraints, and encouraging partner engagement.
• Collaborate with Development partners, balancing Development Support tasks with QA Delivery work.
• Guide QA evolution through promoting defect prevention/containment and test automation.
• Ensure high-standard reporting with concise accurate data.
• Contribute to planning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, with quality, and within budget.
• Define engagement processes, ensuring workflow is clearly defined, documented, and the team is trained on workflow expectations.
• Identify and mitigate project delivery risks.
• Improve processes across the project, identifying patterns, and creating new solutions.

Experience
• Experience with quality
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of game or software development QA experience, including 3+ years in a lead/manager role.
• Experience working with remote teams.
• Excellent verbal skills that adapt to different audiences.
• Experience with white-box/gray-box testing techniques.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and career development.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Jira
• PC and Console experience is desirable.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $122,300 - $170,600 USD Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
