Data and DevOps Engineer - Game Creation Engineering
The Challenge Ahead
This technical role in the Game Creation Engineering team reports to a Senior Engineering Manager. It involves envisioning, designing, and building enterprise-level solutions for EA's video games and central services teams. You'll create architectures integrating custom, off-the-shelf, and packaged applications, and work with EA-built products as well as commercially available products like JIRA, Perforce, and GitLab. Our cloud-first approach uses Azure and AWS, and you'll work with agile teams supporting thousands of users across game teams like FC, Madden, Battlefield, Respawn and central teams like Frostbite and Origin.
Key Responsibilities
• You will address complex challenges and create solutions using the latest products from Game Creation Engineering to empower game creators.
• You will be a Game Creation product SME, comprehending business needs, collaborating with teams, and enriching the game development experience using our Azure data platform.
• You will work with an experienced team of DevOps engineers to guide Game Creation teams in DevOps best practices
• You will enable your product's users to derive game changing insights through impactful reporting, visualization, and real-time data analysis.
• After a few months of onboarding and gaining product understanding, participate in a production support rotation, typically once every 3–5 weeks, to help ensure smooth operations
Job qualifications and requirements
• 2+ years of experience with Azure Data technologies, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Explorer, and Power BI or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure management.
• 2+ years of experience working with data consumers in building impactful reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• 2+ years of experience in database development, queries, and ETL processes.
• 2+ years of experience with DevOps practices, including working with technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD systems, and popular observability platforms.
