About the Role & Team

Disney Entertainment (DE) is one of the three major business segments of The Walt Disney Company, consisting of Disney's entertainment media and content businesses, including its motion picture film studios, Disney General Entertainment Content, streaming services, and international media businesses.

The Content Planning & Analysis (CP&A) function reports into the Direct to Consumer organization. The CP&A team collaborates closely with stakeholders across Disney Entertainment (DE), including finance and strategy, data analytics, research, operations, and programming teams.

What You Will Do

The Senior Analyst, Content Planning & Analysis will be responsible for analytically evaluating the investment and performance of the content on the various Disney Streaming platforms (Disney+ and Hulu) and across multiple distribution windows. This role will work on projects involving different content categories/genres, with a particular focus on international content planning and evaluation, as well as portfolio level analyses, third party licensing deal valuations, distribution and windowing decisions, and executive-level analysis and reporting for leaders in Disney Entertainment (DE). The role will also contribute to the development and application of analytical methodologies and KPI tracking for assessing the performance of content. This role will include structuring and building sophisticated financial and data models for the evaluation of DTC content investments.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
• Conducting analyses of title-level and portfolio content performance (generally using Excel or other data language tools to manipulate and interpret large sets of data)
• Creating presentations that summarize analyses about title expectations and performance, and insights on portfolio/brand/genre performance
• Building models to inform deal valuations, greenlight decisions, windowing strategies and content portfolio analysis
• Developing and updating title performance forecasts
• Maintaining standard datasets and presentation materials, such as slate files or performance rankers

Required Qualifications & Skills
• 3+ years of work experience preferably in consulting, investment banking, finance/strategy roles at media /technology companies, or other quantitative fields
• Demonstrated interest in streaming entertainment and the international entertainment landscape
• Candidate must be highly analytical with superior communication skills and someone who can thrive in a fast-paced and matrixed organization
• Possess intellectual curiosity, focus on generating results and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity
• Must be motivated, disciplined, flexible, and be able to work effectively in collaborative and autonomous environments
• High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including highly advanced Excel modeling skills
• Must have high organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate the needs of a project/workflow or leadership
• Familiarity with statistical concepts and analysis
• Fluency in building visualizations of complex data sets
• Effective at writing, facilitating, and presenting analyses, and proficient with PowerPoint slide building
• High EQ and professional maturity, with demonstrated ability to engage at an executive level

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using SQL/Python/R a plus
• Prior experience in Media/Entertainment is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

The hiring range for this position in California is $123,000.00 to $150,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
