Coordinator, Communications Events (Disney Entertainment) (Project Hire)

The Disney Entertainment Television (DET) Communications, Special Projects & Events team is looking for a Coordinator, Communications Events (Project Hire) to help support a wide variety of communications events. This department collaborates with internal partners across the DET portfolio of brands on the strategy and execution of events, offering expertise to reach new and existing audiences through earned media and social buzz. This is a project hire opportunity expected to last one year.

Job Responsibilities:
• Supporting the DET Communications & Special Projects team on events support for 50+ events a year including creative ideation, venue research, contract management, list management and on-the-ground events needs.
• Overseeing and managing events and special projects, including managing agencies, establishing and meeting deadlines, and creative execution, as assigned and supervised by department VP and manager.
• Building relationships and maintaining lists with influencers and key tastemakers, identifying potential opportunities for earned media for various DET comms and publicity events.
• Liaising between executive offices on event attendance logistics and managing event itineraries and communications.
• Managing the DET-wide events distribution email.
• Collaborating closely with partners across marketing, publicity, corporate communications, executive communications, and corporate social responsibility.
• Flexibility to travel up to once a quarter and work evenings and weekends for events, with approval from manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
• 2+ year/s of publicity or communications-related experience in a studio, network, agency, brand, or similar organization.
• Previous experience in fast-paced events environment
• Excellent writing skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• General awareness of industry trends and innate familiarity with social media, influencers and cultural zeitgeist.
• Ability to effectively and professionally interface with executives, teammates, talent, press and external contacts.
• Proficiency in standard office software including Zoom, Slack, Google Drive and Microsoft Office programs. Experience with Canva, Concur, Keynote, SAP a plus.
• Ability to maintain discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
• Demonstrates curiosity, business acumen, a strong interest in publicity and events.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with influencer-tracking software
• Familiarity with Canva

Preferred Education:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $64,300.00 to $86,200.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
