Position Purpose: Produce weather forecasts using various tools & technologies. Report in the field on big weather events and fill-in on the air, providing consistently accurate information and weather predictions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Use the station's weather tools & technologies to develop accurate weather forecasts.
• Track and deliver breaking weather information live during times of weather emergency.
• Interact with other talent from in the field or on-air in a manner that builds the talent team and makes viewers feel confident with that team.
• Keen eye for graphics production that help tell a weather story.
• Deliver forecasts with energy, accuracy, and with consistently error free performance!
• Work closely and cooperatively with news and promotions producers and managers to promote the daily weather story and the station's overall weather brand.
• Use social media to promote the station's weather coverage on broadcast 7 streaming, build its weather brand, and drive traffic to the station's website weather coverage.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• College degree required; degree in meteorology preferred.
• AMS seal required, although we will consider candidates who are working toward their seal.
• At least 2 years of experience as a weather forecaster at a commercial television station.
• Standout colleague who can execute news managers' goals for a particular newscast.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and act with appropriate urgency during times of breaking weather news.
• Proven ability to use data to create a forecast from scratch; we're not looking for someone who just reads a forecast created by someone else.
• Must be available to work all shifts.
