Assignment Editor (Newsroom)
OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES:

KOVR is looking for an Assignment Editor to join the team! The Assignment Editor is responsible for managing newsroom assignments, monitoring phones, coordinating logistics, monitoring scanners and social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Dispatch crews to stories and breaking news, using appropriate logistical and journalistic judgment
• Assist in finding stories with emphasis on our key brand points and tracking stories as they develop
• Manage time and logistics to make sure the selected stories are covered efficiently with available staff

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2+ years prior television news assignment editor experience
• Newsroom experience

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• You must have a passion for breaking news
• Ability to multi-task and make fast decisions
• A background in print reporting or radio news will be considered

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $68,640.00 - 70,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
