Summary

As part of this creative environment, our movie theater and screening rooms are extremely important to our business. CAA is seeking a Senior Projectionist and AV Specialist who will serve in a multi faceted capacity. First, this role is a hands-on resource responsible for set-up, operation and maintenance of the media equipment including video, projection, slides, audio, motion pictures, and computer equipment. The senior projectionist work in the existing team of projectionists and will be responsible for ensuring all screenings in theater or screening rooms run smoothly and meet our clients expectations. Second, this role will also have responsibility to work with both CAA's AV and Real Estate / Facilities teams in the design and implementation of theater, screening and AV rooms across CAA global sites. The ideal candidate has excellent time management, technical, and communication skills. This candidate is also end user focused, a team player, and driven by customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Include

Provide white glove support to internal business and external clients to ensure all theater events and moving screenings are a flawless experience.
• Receive content from clients prior to screening event to ensure format is correct and file has no issues
• Test content and ensure projection is clear and meets clients approval
• Setup content including DCP ingest, PowerPoint slides or other content sources
• Setup multiple live mics for Q&A sessions or events ensuring speakers can be heard clearly
• Manage house lighting, room audio for quality and appropriate sound
• Maintain a clean and organized projection booth including cleanliness of all equipment
• Coordinate with other projectionist(s) to ensure all screenings and theater events are covered
• Ensure all equipment in theater and screening room(s) is functioning properly, including Projector, Speakers, Screen, TV display, Mac or Windows computer, Tricaster switcher, amplifiers, microphones, etc.
• Identified any equipment issues and work with Tech lead and vendors to resolve
• Work with service desk and A/V team for support when needed
• Handle all requests with a positive attitude and a desire to help our customers
• This is an onsite position in the Los Angeles office with a varying schedule that includes frequent evening and weekend work
• Provide technical expertise, guidance and solutions to the Theater, Screening and AV rooms being built out across CAA global sites and facilities.
• Partner with CAA Technology, AV, Real Estate, Facilities and 3rd party teams to design solutions to meet each CAA site's unique screening needs.
• Remain abreast of trends and emerging technology across theatrical/cinematic technology and equipment, with recommendations to CAA leadership on approach and timing on adoption of these trends
• Aspiration to lead others
• Global Projection and AV support over multiple sites, including thought leadership for future sites

Required Capabilities
• Minimum 7 years experience with operating theatrical/cinematic technology and equipment, audio systems, and/or video camera equipment is essential.
• Five years experience with Digital 4K projectors, with a minimum of 2 years experience with the Barco SP4K
• The ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to provide effective solutions to complex AV issues
• Five (5) years vendor management experience with projection, audio and AV vendors
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask/prioritize.
• The ability to work unsupervised as needed and to make time-sensitive decisions
• Comfortable with Windows and Mac operating systems
• Three plus years experience with Microsoft office solutions including Outlook and Teams
• Willingness to learn new technologies

Desired Capabilities
• Experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other video conferencing solutions
• Experience with Tricaster or other production switchers
• Understanding of connections between screening and AV technologies

Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $127,000 - $172,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
