The Department
The Digital Media department centers the agency's digital, technology, and social-first monetization expertise, focusing on the Creator Economy, which includes Talent Representation, Corporate Advisory, and New Media. We represent digital-endemic content creators across key verticals including gaming, lifestyle, beauty, and fashion, and support traditional talent clients across all areas of their social and direct-to-consumer businesses. CAA Digital Media advises corporate brands, media companies, and tech startups in navigating the Creator Economy and digital ecosystem. As emerging technology, including AR, VR, and AI, impacts storytelling, our team canvases the media landscape to provide opportunities across the agency underpinned by social communities. We work closely with Talent, Brands, and Social-Led Platforms to monetize and capitalize on cultural moments, bring passion projects to life, and diversify revenue streams in collaboration with teams across the agency.
The Role
The Director, Content Operations will lead an internal social media post-production and distribution team and play a pivotal role in driving an always on digital strategy for agency clients. The position will build and manage a sophisticated and efficient operation for social first content ensuring creative excellence, timely delivery and effective multi-platform content publishing.
Responsibilities
• Oversee Post-Production: Lead the post-production process for high-quality digital content across platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and X, ensuring all assets meet client and quality standards
• Execute Content Strategy: Collaborate with clients, social media managers, creatives, and stakeholders to ideate and execute content that drives engagement, aligns with client objectives, and maximizes platform-specific impact
• Manage Post-Production Workflow: Establish and refine workflows for photo and video editing, graphic design, motion graphics, audio mixing, color grading, and quality control to with a focus on efficiency and maintaining consistency across projects
• Supervise Team & Vendors: Build and manage a skilled team of designers, editors, and post-production coordinators; identify, onboard, and oversee vendors and freelancers as needed
• Oversee Scheduling & Deadlines: Develop and manage schedules to ensure timely delivery of content, balancing creative requirements with resource availability and platform deadlines
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Implement a rigorous QA process to ensure content meets technical, legal, and brand standards, including copyright compliance and content guidelines for each platform
• Optimize Content for Engagement: Use data insights to adapt and enhance image and video formats, length, and structure to maximize engagement and audience retention on each platform
• Budget & Resource Management: Manage post-production budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with overall project and department financial goals
• Lead Technological Innovation: Stay current on emerging post-production software, content tools, and platform trends, introducing new techniques to improve content quality and post-production efficiency
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with social media, creative and analytics teams to align content goals with broader client objectives, ensuring a cohesive brand presence across digital platforms
• Work with data & analytics team to develop KPIs and measurement criteria across social media
• Help grow CAA network and visibility in social media space by attending conferences and functions
• Research and stay up to date on emerging film, tv, sports, music and creator social media trends
• When required provide onsite client support for events, activations, shoots, and other to ensure social media coverage
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• At least 10+ years' experience in agency, platform or brand video or social media department
• At least 4+ years' experience overseeing post and distribution of digital video and social content
• Excellent knowledge of posting and syndicating content to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and social media best practices
• Experience with content creation tools like Premiere Pro, CapCut, Photoshop, InDesign and project management tools like Trello, Asana, Airtable
• Established relationships in social media space
• Best-in-class client servicing and relationship building
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to ''think on one's feet'' in a fast-paced, agency environment
• Ability to travel and attend work outside normal business hours on an as needed basis
Location
This role is based in our Los Angeles office.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $130,000 - $150,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
