Responsibilities:
• Partner with a team to design and expand the common data platform that powers our line of business and analytic systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data architecture designs and data structures.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to implement and maintain the data structures, data stores, APIs (Application Programming Interface), and data pipelines required for line-of-business systems and analytics platforms.
• You will use your skills in an agile environment to develop these new business models within our data environment.
• Your experience with continuous delivery will support the end-to-end lifecycle: design, deployment, test, operations, monitoring, and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, business intelligence, and software engineering, to ensure alignment and integration of data solutions within line of business application and analytic products.
• Provide thought leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship to the data engineering team, ensuring best practices and efficient data management processes.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance the performance, scalability, and security of data platforms in our cloud data platform.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• 10+ years' experience total with a minimum of 5 years' experience working with data architecture and data engineering with a focus on implementation, preferably within the Microsoft Azure Data Stack. Candidates with 8 years of experience and a high-level degree will be considered as well.
• Strong expertise in designing and implementing data models, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Proficiency in Python with at least a year of experience delivering production Python data projects to production.
• Experience with JavaScript is a plus.
• Experience with multiple data formats such as JSON, Parquet, Avro
• Hands-on experience in the Azure data stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Tabular Model / DAX, Azure Analysis Services) but If you have strong hands-on experience with complementary data technologies such as AWS Stack, Google Cloud Platform, Hadoop, Amazon Glue, Spark, Airflow and so on we would love to talk to you.
• Hands-on SQL and NoSQL production experience. We're particularly interested in your expertise with SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, CosmosDB, MongoDB, and Elastic. If you bring specific skills in any other cloud-based warehouse let's talk.
• You should have experience with maintaining projects using a distributed version control system such as Git and GitHub.
• Experience in automated deployment of pipelines and schema into production environments would be great.
• You should be experienced with agile methods and the concepts behind continuous delivery.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while also paying attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Education:
We prefer you have a BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, which means five plus years modeling business processes and delivering production code.

Environment
We have a service-oriented collaborative environment where teamwork and care and helping others to succeed are highly valued. Because of these values, we'd love to have someone onsite in a hybrid model at either our LA or NY office. However, we remain committed to finding the strongest fit for this role and are open to 100% remote for the right candidate. Remote candidates will have occasional travel to company meetings and events.
