HR Manager
Blumhouse is looking for a HR Manager. This will be a key role on the HR team and responsible for various strategic and operational duties, including but not limited to: payroll, recruiting, creating and implementing employee programs, and providing generalist support to clients. We are looking for someone who is energized by doing a broad range of work, can multi-task and work on tight deadlines, is a creative problem solver, and builds relationships and rapport with employees and executives. Blumhouse is an entrepreneurial environment, so we are looking for someone who is a self-starter and resourceful.
Responsibilities
• Run payroll twice monthly; liase with finance on taxes, invoicing and employee reimbursements.
• Lead the administration and optimization of all HRIS platforms, particularly ADP, ensuring data accuracy, system integration, and streamlined processes
• Manage employee data maintenance, including onboarding, status changes, and terminations within the HRIS
• Manage pipeline programs – employee referral, internship, early career programs, etc
• Recruit and hire top talent for the company
• Create and maintain employee initiatives to drive retention and engagement - employee events, Culture Committee, volunteer activities, etc
• Partner with and advise employees
• Partner to ensure compliance and mitigating risk, including compensation equity analysis, FLSA assessments, training requirements, etc
• Partner on employee relations issues and investigations, both internally and on our film/tv productions
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of HR experience in either generalist or specialist capacity
• Experience administering ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms is strongly preferred
• Experience in recruiting, payroll, and/or investigations
• Must be proactive, highly organized, reliable and resourceful
• Must be able to communicate clearly, demonstrate good judgment, and be able to build strong relationships with employees and executives
• Ability to prioritize, manage to deadlines, work both autonomously and be a team player
• Must be a self-starter, scrappy and able to roll up your sleeves to get the work done
• Entertainment Industry experience preferred, but not required
• Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, namely Excel
