Data IO Technician (Temporary)
Barnstorm VFX is looking for an enthusiastic Data IO Technician to join the team for a 3-month contract with the potential for future extension. This department facilitates the digital and physical movement of media, from onboarding to final deliverables, while ensuring all security protocols and technical specifications are followed. The ideal candidate has experience with both physical & digital data management, is able to work in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about working in a VFX studio. Candidates must be willing to work onsite from our studio in Burbank, CA, from 1:00pm to 10:00pm during the week.

Who You Are
You have a strong technical background, are highly detail oriented, and are able to work independently with little supervision. You are able to work in high-pressure environment while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
What You'll Do
• Manage all incoming and outgoing data.
• Ensure all data is properly handled for all ingests and deliveries.
• Liaison for the department as an internal point of contact for insight into ongoing work and prioritizing time-sensitive material to meet show needs and deadlines.
• Assist with incoming and outgoing physical drive handoffs with couriers sent by clients
Identify areas of improvement to existing transfer workflows.
• Work with Pipeline TDs to identify, build, and improve pipeline tools based on evolving needs.
• Manage file transfer systems, keeping track of multiple systems and protocols among various clients.
• Communicate with VFX Coordinators to ensure efficient ingests and deliveries and flag any issues.
• Inventory storage space including the Archiving and De-archiving of data.

• Flexible schedule: available to work nights or weekends as needed
• Experience with file transfer systems such as Signiant and Aspera.
• Experience in Cloud based object storage
• Experience in asset management systems that involves the handling of metadata and taxonomy
About This Role
Please note that candidates must be willing and able to work Monday through Friday from our studio in Burbank, CA, and the standard shift is from 1:00pm to 10:00pm. This is a 3-month temporary role with the possibility for future extension.
