Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
• Assist with maintaining the integrity of all on-air and online products, including FM, HD, and AM transmissions, digital audio, and video streaming.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all broadcast radio station equipment, including transmitters, antennas, satellite downlinks, automation systems, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone systems, and other related equipment.
• Assist in the planning and development of all aspects of technical facilities, including studios, transmitters, telephone systems, satellite, STL, computers, and data networks.
• Create instructional materials and train operators to use technical equipment and systems.
• Support staff with IT-related issues.
• Perform and/or facilitate building maintenance.
• Facilitate fleet maintenance.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors.
• As a part of the Technical Operations team, be available for on-call duty as required.

Qualifications

Required:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in broadcasting.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of computers and IT systems.
• Data network proficiency (LAN, VLAN, TCP/UDP routing)
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Visio, and MS Office.
• Availability to work various hours/days, including some weekends and holidays.
• Ability to provide on-call status 24/7 on a rotating basis with the Chief Engineer in case of equipment failure.
• Experience with modern digital audio systems, including Wide Orbit, VoxPro, and Livewire, is highly desirable.
• A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.

Preferred:
• Certifications: SBE, Dante, CompTIA (A+, Network+), AVIXA.
• Experience with modern digital audio systems, including Wide Orbit, VoxPro, and Audio Over IP.
• Expert-level knowledge of digital audio (AES67), broadcast studios, audio, and video over IP.
• At least four years of college or technical school education and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and smell.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
