Amazon Music is seeking a highly-creative, self-motivated and high-judgement PR professional with a depth of experience and interest in audio entertainment to join the Amazon Music global communications team and support the business in Japan. The person in this role will work with Amazon Music's business team in Japan to plan and execute publicity campaigns for the streaming service. The ideal candidate will have industry media relationships and experience managing agencies. This role will report to the Head of Global PR for Amazon Music.
The successful candidate will have 7+ years of experience in Communications and PR with a proven track record of planning and delivering creative press campaigns; a strong understanding of the current social media landscape; and best-in-class local media contacts. They should be a multi-tasker, highly-organized, creative thinker, goal-oriented, adaptable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic public relations programs that drive awareness of the Amazon Music businesses and content for Japan
- Write campaign plans, messaging, and media-facing materials
- Build relations with key media, and be able to pitch and secure top tier coverage
- Deliver counsel to internal executives on PR challenges and opportunities
- Work closely with agencies, contractors, and wider international teams to devise and implement PR activity
- Work closely with internal teams across the business to deliver projects to deadline
- Remain aware of the latest news in the entertainment and digital audio space.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Business Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English.

- Proven ability to partner with teammates located around the world
- A strategic thinker, ensuring that PR activity delivers against business objectives and articulates key messages

- Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while managing essential work
- Social and influencer-minded: able to build integrated campaigns that leverage new and emerging digital media
- Solid judgment and the ability to respond quickly, yet thoughtfully, to urgent PR matters.
