Job Description
Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includes Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities.

This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Game Show Network is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented intern to support the Development Programming department. This role will expose you to the many facets of development (creative development, talent, programming/production, etc). This person will also serve as a department liaison and handle communication with internal Game Show Network divisions for our development programming team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively participating, brainstorming, and contributing to development department meetings. This includes attending pitches, generating talent ideas, and game show formatting.
• Researching, creating, and updating databases on market trends and competitive news.
• Participating in the development process from ideation including pitch decks, sizzles, pilots, and workshops.
• Generating ideas for host talent, casting, and researching talent names for brainstorms.
• Coordinating internal and external meetings with various GSN departments, outside producers and production companies, and networks.
• Maintaining files, pitch logs, and logging notes in development meetings
• Supporting the department with general administrative duties when needed, including calendar management, note-taking, copying, and filing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Attentiveness to detail and organization
• Knowledge of Canva, PowerPoint, and other creative presentation software
• Competence in managing projects, situations, and people
• The willingness to embody our collaborative culture, a self-starter, competitive, passionate, bold, distinctive, innovative, creative, and able to have fun!
• Strong team orientation and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• The ability to work well with others and collaborate across the organization to achieve goals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Students majoring in television, production, broadcast journalism, or related fields
• The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role, industry, department, etc.
• Interest in television production, specifically game show formats

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
