The NBCUniversal Internship Program allows students to unlock their potential by contributing to big projects in meaningful ways that matter. To thrive as an NBCU intern, you are ready to bring your passion for media, entertainment, and technology along with your desire to learn each day.

Academic Year Recruitment Timeline:

Job Description

Academic Year Internship Program:
• Applications Close: April 26th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!
• Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.  We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
• Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

Direct-to-Consumer Device Marketing: The Device Marketing team is one of Partner Marketing's ''Centers of Excellence,'' building the marketing strategy for our distribution partners. Peacock has relationships with both traditional and new age streaming platforms, such as Xfinity, DirecTV, Roku, Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung, Vizio, LG, Xbox, and PlayStation. The Device Marketing intern will serve as an integral member of the team and play a role in developing strategic decisions across our partnerships. Opportunities throughout the internship include providing consultative recommendations to internal teams, directly executing earned partner marketing integrations, and optimizing media campaigns on device partner platforms. The Intern will work closely with stakeholders across Peacock and NBCUniversal to optimize internal process and research industry trends.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
• Competitive intelligence research and auditing of platform marketing best practices
• Serve as the compiler of content priorities, marketing plans, and postmortem recaps
• Create content pitch decks to be presented to key partners
• Device Weekly coordination and scheduling
• Editorial Media auditing

Platform and Device Partnerships: The Peacock Distribution Strategy & Partnerships team sits within the broader NBCU Direct-to-Consumer group. Working directly with multiple stakeholders across the organization, we define and execute the distribution and partnership strategy for Peacock. Our group is focused on the establishment of new distribution opportunities, partnerships, and business development efforts in key audience growth areas and emerging market categories to drive Peacock growth - we are looking for an intern to help support these exciting initiatives. The Peacock, BD & Partnerships Intern supports the DTC Partnerships team on a wide variety of projects spanning across partners from the MVPD, IAP, FAST, and Social/Emerging fields.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
• Update a variety of data trackers on a weekly/monthly basis
• Shadow internal meetings and take notes to distribute teamwide
• Contribute to write-ups when requested by team members
• Assist with deck building on PowerPoint
• Contribute to monthly updates of established deck series
• Complete research requests, ranging from one-off requests for partner leads, competitive research, and market trends
• Create deliverables for internal quarterly meetings, including graphs, research, & data analysis
• When opportunity is available, present internally to partner leads and other stakeholders
• Craft ideas for market landscaping and take lead on creating a summary deck

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 
• Current MBA candidates preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Excellent organization, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong writing and critical-thinking skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong interest in marketing, advertising, and/or streaming.
• Comfort with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment.
• Collegial, high energy, and persistent personality, and excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Media and entertainment experience.
