At EA, data-driven decision-making is the heart of our game development. We're looking for a passionate Data Science Intern with a solid background in statistical analysis, machine learning, data modeling, and, of course, a love for games and digital innovation.

As a Data Science intern, you'll work closely with experts in the Data and Analytics team, contributing to machine learning models that power intelligent features across EA's games. You'll gain hands-on experience in areas such as recommendation systems, matchmaking, natural language processing (NLP), image classification, etc.

Under the guidance of an experienced senior data scientist, you'll receive continuous support and mentorship to enhance your skills and contribute meaningfully to high-impact projects. Your work will directly contribute to AI-powered products that drive insights, improve player engagement, and enhance in-game experience. You'll have the opportunity to shape features that test designs, recommend content, monitor economies, and create safe spaces to bring players closer together.

The biggest and single most important aspect that we look for in aspiring colleagues is people who enjoy the joy of discovery.

Responsibilities:
• Research, design, implement, and validate models.
• Perform advanced statistical/machine learning analyses on customer databases and other sources.
• Manipulate and process data, and create data visualizations to aid in your modeling efforts.
• Work with game teams/partners (internal clients) to understand their offerings/domain and create data science products and solutions to solve for their use cases.
• Communicate and present results to business leaders, product managers, analysts, and others throughout the organization.
• Implement and share new methodologies.

Qualifications:
• Masters or PhD student enrolled in a STEM major.
• Experience with applied statistics or machine learning, including topics such as supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, deep learning (CNNs, RNNs, transformers), reinforcement learning, NLP, or time series analysis.
• Experience using Python and SQL.
• Experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow, Hive/Hadoop, or AWS/GCP is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to create compelling stories for executives.
• Strong ability to build partnerships and collaboration across teams.
• A willingness to learn, share, and improve.
• Ability to drive projects through to completion.
• Interest in games is a big plus.

We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited Masters or PhD program in the summer of 2025 , slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US or Canada on a full time basis during the 16-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.
