Position

ABOUT THE ROLE

Salary: $23-$26ph

Location: El Segundo/hybrid remote working

Working Hours: Weekend shift - either Weds-Sun or Sat-Weds.

Due to continued expansion, ZOO Digital are currently seeking an English Editor to join their English department based in El Segundo, CA. The English Team is required to create, reformat and edit captions for videos to be distributed on a variety of platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, iTunes, Amazon, Google and Hulu, ensuring all captions and subtitles are presented in perfect English grammar.

As English Editor- Scripts, you will need to create, re-format, and edit a variety of post-production scripts such as dialogue lists and broadcast scripts, as well as assisting with English subtitle quality control. You will have training on our in-house cloud-based system. Working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, day to day responsibilities will include;
• Managing tight deadlines, scheduling, and integrating technology effectively
• Communicating with ZOO project coordinators, subtitle operators and a global network of vendors and contractors.
• Shifting priorities as required on a daily basis to accommodate the changing needs of our clients, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrating strong writing and editing skills preferred.

All on site ZOO employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide CDC verification of their vaccination status as part of the onboarding process before starting.

Requirements

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The English Editor must have a background in English, ideally a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or a related field. We are ideally looking for applicants with previous subtitling and editing experience, but will also consider equivalent experience in a similar field.

We are also keen to hear from applicants with the following skills/experience;
• Fast and accurate typing skills – minimum 60wpm
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office
• Familiarity in using search engines to research people, places, and unfamiliar terms
• Comfortable adapting to new software
