Position
The Art & Localization Specialist role is responsible for the creation, conversion and localization of both video and still materials for a range of clients worldwide. Working in a fast-paced production environment and as part of an Artwork team based in Sheffield and America requires staff to be comfortable and concise in communications, capable of working autonomously, taking initiative, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and collaborating closely with others to find creative and efficient solutions under tight timeframes. In your role you will report to the Technical Operations Manager and work alongside the Artwork team daily to assist in ongoing projects and receive individual assignments. With regular UK/US video calls there's always a constant stream of communication going on both locally and with the US team. These provide opportunities to maintain visibility on workloads, provide updates along with using the wider teams experience as a think tank to assist in solving any creative or technical issues that may occur throughout a project. You will also be given opportunities to further develop skillsets through Udemy to ensure we're keeping up with trends, software packages and design approaches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Creative Duties
• Liaise with Project Managers, Artwork Team and Art Localisation Manager to define design requirements and to provide progress updates.
• Localization work in a range of areas including.
• Title Treatments.
• Off Service Trailers & Video Assets.
• Creation of Dubcards.
• BD/DVD Menu creation.
• Post work - Assisting Subtitling Team with the hardcoding of subtitles.
• Ability to replicate the look and feel of the original design for localized assets.
• Performing QC checks against final deliverables to ensure both creative and technical requirements are adhered to.
• Archival of both source files and produced deliverables upon project completion.
• Assist in other creative tasks which relate to other departments within the company as requested.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have 2+ years proven work experience as a Production Artist or Graphic Designer or similar role, with a clear understanding of the creative process. They will also be driven by their passion for creativity and communication via visual mediums.
You will have proven experience in the following areas.
• Ability to work as part of a team on collaborative projects or independently requiring minimal supervision.
• Quality driven approach with the ability to follow strict briefs, guidelines, QC checklists and instructions.
• A strong eye for detail and accuracy with the ability review proofs and final pieces to address any quality concerns.
• Experience using graphic design, video and image editing software's (Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects & Premiere Pro etc).
• Existing typography skills and experience in creating and editing custom fonts in Adobe Illustrator
• Ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple tasks at once ensuring each project is on track and meets the respective deadlines.
• Receiving and providing feedback throughout the QC of deliverable materials.
• Problem Solving - Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Qualification in Graphic Design or experience of print/pre-press environment, digital asset localization, or design is a plus but not essential given sufficient experience and portfolio.
