The TV and Media Solutions team accelerates YouTube's TV and Originals businesses with stellar technology solutions, operations, and partner support, making data exchange seamless and scaling critical business processes. Our team of Partner Technology Managers, Partner Engineers, Solutions Consultants, and Program Managers manage operations and partner support for YouTubeTV and YouTube Premium.
YouTube TV is an Over-The-Top (OTT) subscription streaming service that brings live TV and video-on-demand over the internet to your phone, tablet, computer, or smart TV. The YouTube OTT team owns the industry leading YouTube TV and Primetime Channels products (SVOD/TVOD/AVOD) in YouTube.
The OTT Broadcast team is responsible for all of the content ingestion that powers OTT products, including system design, video/network engineering, feed infrastructure, Ingestion video quality, software, tooling, and operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for building the next iteration of YouTube OTT's ingestion platform with a focus on content ingestion scaling, integrating tooling, reducing operational complexities, enhancing video quality, and innovating broadcast systems into a new era of distribution. You will manage vendor engagements and partner closely with engineering operations and engineering teams across YouTube.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Resonsibilities:
• Own and drive tooling strategy for the YouTube live ingestion pipeline, integrating both internal and external systems with focus on automation, improving stream quality and maximizing efficiency. Optimize monitoring tools and manage quality control strategies for broadcast media compliance.
• Own the business outcomes associated with reducing operational complexities, employing cost-control measures and reducing time to diagnose, mitigate, and resolve stream impacting issues.
• Innovate and modernize legacy tooling and operational workflows with a low-touch, software-first design approach, and a goal to surface and act on leading indicators of quality degradation.
• Work with the head of OTT broadcast engineering and cross-functional stakeholders on a data lake strategy for end-to-end operational visibility and root cause analysis of stream impacting issues.
• Collaborate closely with the Video Content Acquisition Lead in assessing ingestion architecture, enabling mutual cross-training and skill enhancement.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 9 years of experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.
• 7 years of experience at a Streaming Service or in Broadcast Media digital distribution
• Experience with video encoding and content metadata.
Preferred qualifications:
• Master's degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience managing complex cross-functional or cross-team projects.
• 10 years of experience in operations management (i.e., process improvement, operational reviews, optimizing workflows, etc.).
