WWSB-TV / ABC7 in Sarasota, Florida, is searching for a NIGHTSIDE ANCHOR/MMJ. The right journalist will be lead story MMJ, who is an established editorial leader, delivering breaking news in the field and from the anchor desk.

WWSB-TV / ABC7 in Sarasota, Florida, is searching for a NIGHTSIDE ANCHOR / MMJ. This is a high-profile, important role and prompter readers need not apply. The right person for this position should consider themself a lead story MMJ, who is comfortable delivering breaking news in the field, as they are from the anchor desk. This is considered an editorial leadership position, as this teammate will help lead early and late evening coverage. A positive attitude and ability to engage our audience on-air and on digital platforms is a must. This person will be expected to turn daily content for the evening newscasts, file live and breaking news from our newsroom Live Desk and make public appearances as an ambassador for our station.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Anchor newscasts as assigned with clean, engaging and thoughtful delivery
- Produce enterprise and breaking news stories as an MMJ
- Write and post real time updates on digital and social platforms
- Plan, produce and file regular nightly reports from Live Desk
- Engage audience through social channels and personal appearances
- Develop and maintain contacts with local newsmakers and experts
- Ability to partner with newsroom managers, to increase productivity and teamwork

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Demonstrated track record of producing new reports and live reports from the field using MMJ Equipment & Cell phone technologies
- At least three years' experience as an Anchor & MMJ
- Confident & experienced performance on air
- Ability to handle breaking news on-air, online and behind the scenes in timely and professional manner
- Leadership of the news team and a trusted editorial voice
- Internship in a commercial newsroom
- Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience
