Job Description
Fairchild Media Group is hiring a WWD Senior Commerce Writer to support affiliate marketing content creation, from urgent trending product news to in-depth shopping guides of the best items to shop based on hands-on product testing with expert-backed quotes and thorough research.

The ideal candidate should consider themselves to be a creative and ambitious self-starter with their finger on the pulse of emerging shopping and product trends in beauty, fashion, and home product categories in the retail market and on social media, as well as how these product trends and hot new releases tap into major pop culture moments to drive engagement and product sales.

This dynamic addition to the Fairchild Media Group commerce team will be required to utilize critical thinking skills and research to conceptualize, write, and produce timely, revenue-driving content with attention-grabbing headlines, as well as maximize on data insights and resources to update top-performing SEO-optimized evergreen content.

Along with a passion for shopping and discovering game-changing style products, candidates should have impeccable organizational skills, a can-do attitude, a great sense of urgency, an eagerness to spearhead new initiatives with great problem-solving skills, and clean, fast writing skills that are key to this important role on our growing team. This role reports to the director of commerce and is based in New York.

Responsibilities:
• Conceive and write 3-4 stories daily or 12+ stories weekly, depending on content type, with unique, on-brand storytelling that incentivizes our readers to shop, including product roundups, buyer's guides, single product reviews, and sales content across multiple product categories
• Contribute to editing freelancer article copy and CMS production as needed
• Identify and interview credible and unexpected-yet-knowledgeable expert sources in the beauty, fashion, and home product space to add quality service tips to shopping content
• Collaborate with the commerce team and other editorial staff to execute ambitious commerce franchises and revenue-generating projects.
• Working in pinning commerce content on Pinterest, according to best practices
• Assist in monitoring and fulfilling traffic and affiliate goals while identifying new growth opportunities for Fairchild Media Group
• Have a strong interest and understanding of social media trends, cult-following products, and innovative product releases embraced by consumers and celebrities alike

Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years professional commerce writing experience for a digital media brand or publisher
• Skilled in writing headlines that drive conversions in commerce content
• Experience in leveraging Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media platforms to drive conversion
• Expert in SEO optimization of evergreen content
• Must be a clean, fast writer that's highly organized and pays strong attention to detail.
• Have a solid understanding of affiliate marketing and a strong desire to grow your knowledge through data analysis.
• Well-versed in digital and affiliate strategy and analytics
• Proactively integrate shop links across relevant WWD trending celebrity style content
• Improve shopping content performance by reviewing key metrics related to traffic, orders, gross sales and net commission
• Help execute the affiliate and e-commerce strategy for the site
• Proficient in pulling data and insights from Trackonomics and Looker preferred
• Proficient in a variety of affiliate networks including Rakuten, Impact Radius, Howl, Linkby, Amazon Associates, and more.
• Skilled in photoshop and Canva

Typical Salary: 68K-78K. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
