Job Summary/Description:

WVVA Television in Bluefield, WV is looking for a Technical Media Producer (TMP Operator). Interested in what goes on behind the scenes at a television station? This is your opportunity to experience the fast paced, live television environment and work with an incredibly professional team while growing your technical and leadership skills! We are looking for a savvy individual to work with our state-of-the-art automation system to execute live newscasts, breaking news and special projects. The TMP is responsible for technical production aspects of a show from start to finish.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
• Requires working weekends.
• Works directly with the news team to put together fast paced live news broadcasts.
• Responsible for all technical aspects of the newscast including video, audio, graphics, and camera movements.
• Monitors on air signals.
• Ingesting daily programming, commercials, promotions, and satellite operations.
• Work closely with other departments to meet daily demands as necessary.
• Plays a critical role ensuring the work of news producers, editors, photographers, and talent is presented cleanly to viewers.
• Resolves challenges and ensures a clean broadcast.
• Codes and executes live productions using Ross Overdrive automation and iNews.
• Prepares studio, microphones, and IFB.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in broadcast television production or communications preferred.
• Live television broadcast experience preferred.
• Experience using ADC automation preferred.
• Knowledge of Ross Overdrive a plus.
• Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Ability to multitask, be highly motivated and confident in executing difficult and complex tasks.
• Ability to function in a high-pressure role and environment.
• Ability to quickly react to changing priorities as needed.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
