Job Summary/Description:
WTAP has an opening for a full-time Meteorologist for our First Alert Weather team. The right candidate will produce and present multiple weather segments in our newscasts. We're looking for a self-motivated candidate who is committed to quality and connecting with the viewers. A passion for both weather and live-in-the-field reporting is a must.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare graphics to support weather presentation.
- Conversational On-air presentation.
- Must be able to utilize social media during severe weather.
- Producing and presenting clear and concise weather casts,
- Developing content and graphics for on-air, web, and social media.
- Work with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations.
- Candidate must bring professionalism, energy, confidence, and personality to our newscasts and our newsroom.
- Skills as an MMJ are a plus.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, meteorology or related field required.
- Ability to be creative with graphic design and presentation.
- Strong on-air communication skills.
- Experience with WSI Max weather system is a plus.
