Job Summary/Description:

WTAP is looking for a full-time Digital Content Producer/MMJ to manage content on WTAP.COM and the WTAP social media platforms. This person will also cover news in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Successful candidates will have the ability to deliver compelling stories. Must be a self-motivator, able to meet deadlines, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate good news judgment and decision-making. WTAP is looking for someone who maintains a positive work environment. The schedule for this position typically works Monday through Friday.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write and post website stories, videos, photos & multimedia content
- Send out breaking news with urgency via text/mobile/web and broadcast
- Strong emphasis on professional social media skills as related to journalism
- Ability to teach and lead by example while using the latest technology
- Attend daily news meetings, and work closely with newsroom colleagues to identify and promote upcoming content on different media platforms
- Write, shoot, and edit stories on your own for daily newscasts, website, and social platforms
- Generating story ideas and building local contacts
- Willingness to take direction as a team player is essential
- Seek out innovative new ways to share information on digital platforms
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers, producers, and co-workers
- Must be an excellent writer
- Must have strong work ethic, excellent people skills, and must maintain professional attitude at all times.
- Understanding of Current Events and Sports
- Able to use social media outlets to engage viewers
- Schedule flexibility; schedule and responsibilities are subject to change at the News Director's discretion.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record
