Wondery, now part of Amazon Music, is changing the way people listen to podcasts. Wondery is a premium podcast studio known for character-driven, binge-worthy stories such as Dr. Death, The Shrink Next Door, Even the Rich and Business Wars. Amazon Music offers a free-to-customer ad-supported listening experience, an ad free premium listening experience for Prime members, and subscribers of Amazon Music Unlimited can listen to a catalog of over 70 million songs in HD. We continue to innovate, building a world class audio experience by making strategic data-driven decisions that start with the customer.

We're looking for a Sr. Content Acquisition Manager to join our team in Germany, with experience in podcast and/or spoken word entertainment to negotiate Wondery content deals, identify and on-board new podcast partners, secure additional rights from existing partners, and help create and execute acquisition strategies in Germany and across Europe (including France, Italy and Spain). The Sr. Content Acquisition Manager will be instrumental in developing Amazon Music's relationship with broadcasters, publishers and content producers in the country, developing successful partnerships with local production companies and rights holders.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of work experience in a content acquisition, licensing, and/or business development role with the ability to manage relationships with media executives from key local content providers.

Key job responsibilities
• Identify, prioritize, on-board and manage relationships with 3P content partners (production companies, talent agencies, independent creators, podcast networks and public/private broadcasters) to position Amazon Music as a natural home for podcasters
• Work closely with internal teams including Content, Sales, Product, Legal, Finance and Marketing to achieve positive negotiation outcomes for Amazon and content providers
• Ensure seamless collaboration within multiple areas to develop an acquisition strategy that contributes to the Podcast business
• Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music's strategic priorities and expansion opportunities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years experience in a content acquisition, licensing, or business development role
• Proven bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• A proven track record of setting and exceeding aggressive goals
• Self-starter who is customer obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player
• Strong business judgment and demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in business German and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Understanding of the podcast or audio entertainment landscape and associated business models
• Experience in content acquisition within podcasts or similar entertainment media (TV, Film, OTT, audio, etc.)
• A deep knowledge of the German content landscape across different media
• Experience in digital advertising, working with advertising sales teams or financial modelling
• Additional European languages (French, Italian, Spanish) are a plus
