Associate Producer, WMAR

WMAR, The E.W. Scripps affiliate in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking an Associate Producer who will assist in gathering, writing and editing content for daily programming.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Work closely with Executive Producers and Producers to determine content needs.
• Assist in the development of content for multiple platforms in AP and broadcast style.
• Execute time sensitive decisions.
• Write clearly for multiple platforms.
• Edit video for multiple platforms.
• Post content to station's websites.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• BS/BA in related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience
• No prior experience required

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, storytelling abilities, and news judgement
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a face paced environment
• Proficiency in computer-based editing, Final Cut Pro and basic computer skills including MS Office
• Detail-oriented and able to work effectively under deadlines
• Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws
• Flexible work hours may be required, including holidays, weekends and evenings

COMPENSATION RANGE:
Hourly: $20.00 - 22.00

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in Maryland.
