Job Description

WHDH is hiring a full-time technician to mix audio for newscasts. Responsible for the coordination of all wired & wireless microphones and IFB equipment and for operating the audio board. Technician will also be assigned shifts as a receive operator with duties including tuning in live shots via LiveU, microwave and satellite; perfecting video and audio quality; recording requested content. Candidates should be adept multitaskers comfortable with working in a fast-paced, breaking news environment and able to handle last minute changes under pressure. Must be able to communicate well with crews in the field as well as newsroom and control room personnel. Candidates should ideally have at least 2 years of professional experience in broadcast television. Ability to edit using Grass Valley and Avid is a plus as is experience using the following technology and equipment: Solid State Logic audio board, satellite receivers and antennas (Compusat), LiveU, NSI microwave antenna controllers, AJA frame syncs, Evertz routing panels, digital waveform and scopes and Grass valley or Avid ingest systems.
