Job Summary/Description:
WDTV in Clarksburg is looking for a passionate sports storyteller. We are looking for a sports multimedia journalist to join a team that covers local high school sports, including West Virginia's longest-running football highlights show, West Virginia University, and several local college teams.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Shoot & edit daily sports content for multiple newscasts and digital properties as an MMJ
- Develop and grow sources to effectively report and break sports news with local high school, college, and regional professional teams
- Collaborate with Sports Director, News Managers, Producers, and Technical Staff to ensure sports stories are as compelling as possible
- Operate portable live units, and conduct clean, engaging live reports from the field
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of BIG 12 players and coaches
- Contribute to and help grow the digital presence of WDTV Sports
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and possess the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Must possess a valid Driver's License with a good driving record
