Job Summary/Description:
WCTV is the dominant #1 CBS affiliate in the Tallahassee-Thomasville DMA, considered a breaking weather market. The weekend morning meteorlogist leads our weather coverage in PM newscasts and is responsible for both digital and on-air weather responsibilities. They also report several times during the week, if they are not filling in on another newscast.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Forecast weather for weekend morning newscasts, and other weekday newscasts as assigned
• Update staff on emergency weather conditions in newsroom editorial meetings
• Shoot & edit daily content for newscasts and website
• Operate portable live units, and conduct live shots from the field
• Utilize our ''CTV Digital Desk'' for daily weather updates, and also during times of severe and tropical weather.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Broadcast Meteorology experience
• Be qualified to apply for the AMS or NWA seal
