Job Summary/Description:

Are you a skilled producer looking to take the next step into newsroom management? If so, WCAX-TV, the news leader in Burlington, Vermont, has an immediate opening for an evening Executive Producer. We need a leader with strong news judgment and organizational skills who can help turn the newsroom vision into compelling newscasts for our three-hour evening news block.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Oversight of the preparation of rundowns for evening newscasts
- Working with the assistant news director and assignment manager to coordinate coverage over multiple hours
- Leading afternoon editorial meetings and reviewing rundowns
- Ensuring high production values in all newscasts
- Working with operations manager and newscast directors on all presentation aspects of newscasts
- Assisting show producers in writing, graphic creation and reviewing content to minimize errors
- Coaching producers, reporters, and photojournalists
- Responding to breaking news
- Oversight of digital response to breaking news
- Writing compelling news stories
- Line producing newscasts when needed
- Posting stories and video on website and on mobile, as needed
- Contributing story ideas in morning editorial meetings

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of two years producing experience.
- Should have demonstrated experience in writing and be able to think visually.
- Possess outstanding communication skills, writing ability and news judgment
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Creative presentation style, and ability to showcase all resources and elements
- Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
