Job Description
The Washington Nationals Interpreter will provide Spanish-English translation and interpretation services for players, coaches and staff. This role requires a deep understanding of baseball terminology, media relations and marketing strategies to effectively communicate and promote the team's activities and initiatives. The position requires the employee to be with the team for the duration of Spring Training and for all regular- and post-season home games and to travel with the team for all away games.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide real-time Spanish-English translation during games, practices, meetings and media interactions, including open clubhouse and postgame.
• Translate written materials, including press releases, marketing content, social media and internal communications.
• Assist players with cultural acclimation and education, ensuring they understand team and MLB policies and procedures.
• With the Senior Director, Communications, manage player interviews, press conferences and media appearances.
• Support the communications team in drafting, editing and distributing press materials, game notes and other written communications in English and Spanish, as needed.
• With the Senior Director and Manager, Communications, perform baseball media relations functions as needed.
• Assist with communications marketing strategies that promote the team's brand and engage with Spanish-speaking fans.
• Collaborate with the marketing department to create bilingual content for social media, websites and other digital platforms.
• Attend community appearances involving players or staff whose primary language is Spanish.
• Work from the team's Spring Training complex in West Palm Beach, Fla., for the duration of Spring Training (accommodations will be provided).
• Be present for all home and away games as well as non-gameday events where required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent military experience.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Minimum of three years of experience in media relations, marketing or a related field, preferably within a sports organization.
• Strong understanding of baseball terminology and culture.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the baseball schedule.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
• Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
• Game Day: Must be able to work in a stadium environment, including exposure to weather conditions.
• Travel: Must be able to travel with the team for all away games.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms. Must have clear vision at 20 inches or less. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch sit or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
Compensation:
The projected annual salary range for this position is $53,000 - $70,000 per year. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
