As the Senior Manager, Commercial Insights, you will be instrumental in supporting our commerce team in data analysis, industry trend modeling, deep dive into frontline and catalog releases, as well as support with ad hoc projects. You will report centrally to the VP of Commerce and support across both the Commercial and Data teams. The heart of this role is to be an expert and work with various data tools in order to support the teams and weave data into the fabric of day to day operations.
Your role:
This is a global role that will sit within the central team but work across multiple verticals as a data expert, while adding value and implementing processes in equal measure. You will get the chance to provide opportunities and strategy recommendations to our label partners, dig into ever changing data sets, and explain findings in a digestible manner across all internal teams and external partners. You will get to be the translator between data and our business stakeholders, providing an invaluable perspective on our growing business.
Here you'll get to:
• You will work with the executive, commercial, and marketing teams to provide supplemental insights and analyses that provide recommendations to our clients and internal teams
• You will be the representative for commercial consumption to our label partners, feeding comparative analysis, opportunities, and real time insights on a weekly basis
• You will provide high-touch analyses to our label partners, identifying commercial frontline and catalog data trends, with a focus on actionable recommendations
• You will work with business stakeholders to create effective partner insights reviews to educate our internal teams and our label partners
• You will liaise with the data science and analytics team to take advantage of advanced modeling and workflows
About you:
• You have 3-5 years of experience in a data, commercial, or marketing role within the music or entertainment industry.
• You are comfortable creating easily digestible data narratives with compelling visualizations and actionable takeaways
• You have demonstrably strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability; portfolio of relevant work requested
• You are SQL proficient, with a comfortability navigating relational databases
• You have expertise BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar
• Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources, create accurate summarizations, with key takeaways and recommendations
• You enjoy being an independent operator who can employ critical thinking and problem solving, but knows how to use the resources at their disposal to get the job done
• You are relentlessly curious and proactive about what insights exist within large data sets, and the ability to communicate those insight to a non-technical audience
• You have experience working within the music industry - label, distribution, DSPs, etc
We'd love it if you also had:
• A passion for music, with a working knowledge of the current consumption landscape and industry trends
• Experience and/or genre knowledge of hip-hop
• Experience working in the music distribution space
• Experience working with Data Science and modelling frameworks

This position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.
Salary Range
$75,000 - $85,000 Annually
Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
