Job Title: Legal Analyst, Litigation

A little bit about our team:

WMG's corporate Legal Department is located at corporate headquarters in NYC (and also in London) and supports WMG's recorded music labels, music publishing entities and all operating companies and departments in various legal matters, including litigation and claims, digital licensing, content protection, anti-piracy, mergers and acquisitions, securities, compliance and employment.

Your role:

This position is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of the litigations and pre-litigation claims affecting a global entertainment company and its affiliated record labels and music publishing entities. In this role, you will develop a well-rounded experience in supporting an in-house litigation team, from finding infringements of WMG's intellectual property and collecting evidence for a lawsuit to drafting cease-and-desist letters, litigation document hold notices and subpoena responses.

Here you'll get to:
• Investigate potential infringements of WMG's intellectual property by digital services, social media platforms, websites, and mobile apps that use WMG content without a license, including conducting target research and due diligence, confirming rights and collecting evidence.
• Draft cease-and-desist letters and litigation document hold notices.
• Assist with case management and discovery.
• Prepare quarterly reporting documents pertaining to litigations affecting the company.
• Research and respond to third-party subpoenas, garnishments, liens and levies.
• Maintain internal and external court deadlines and manage filing system.
• Interact with WMG's internal business units, outside counsel, artist and songwriter representatives and music industry trade associations.

About you:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Paralegal and/or law firm experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments from multiple people.
• Proficiency with Gmail, Google Docs, Google Slides, Meta, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
• Familiarity with copyright registrations and navigating the US Copyright Office's online catalog.
• Ability to conduct yourself in the highest ethical manner and exhibit professional demeanor and sound judgment.
• A passion for music

We'd love it if you also had:
• Experience in and/or general knowledge of the music industry and copyright law.
• A sense of humor, a positive attitude, and an inquisitive nature.

Effective October 1st, 2023 this position will require being in the office 4 days a week. We believe that an in-office presence is critical for talent development, collaboration and building strong relationships.

Salary Range
$31.80 to $35.90 Hourly ($62,000 to $70,000, if annualized)

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
