The Job

We currently have an opportunity for Counsel, Legal and Business Affairs with digital and traditional advertising and marketing experience and e-commerce experience to join the Legal department supporting Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Global Brands and Experiences.

The Daily
• Provide legal support and counsel to digital, promotions, publicity, media, franchise, marketing, creative and category groups in association with marketing activities globally.
• Work closely with marketing groups to develop and successfully execute multi-layered campaigns, which include, among other activations, real time marketing, native advertising, social influencer campaigns, and user generated content activations.
• Evaluate apps, websites, games, children's websites, and VR activations from development through launch for legal compliance.
• Review, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including licenses for use of the company's intellectual property on consumer products, licensed advertising, promotions and theme parks, technology and e-commerce agreements, sponsorship agreements, advertising agency and media agreements, software license and platform license agreements, social influencer agreements, vendor agreements, live streaming, terms of service and consumer data-related agreements.
• Review sweepstakes and contest rules and review supporting marketing materials for Warner Bros. and partner sponsored promotions.
• Review and clear marketing materials, including newly-produced content in accordance with Guild rules and contractual obligations.
• Advise on wide range of content production, intellectual property, licensing, publicity, advertising and marketing matters, including trademark, copyright, right of publicity, guild, rights clearances, sweepstakes, contests, data privacy, sponsorship, e-commerce, social influencer campaigns, user-generated content, contractual rights, company policy and regulatory compliance issues.
• Build and maintain relationships, manage outside counsel, collaborate, and communicate effectively across the business and territories with key internal and external stakeholders, including partners and various WarnerMedia legal and corporate colleagues.
• Provide legal advice, guidance and direction to senior management and staff on all aspects of WBCP's business.
• Review and approve draft license and master vendor agreements prepared by staff of Contract Administrators, and oversee creating, implementation and compliance with Contract Administration policies and procedure.
• Provide legal advice in connection with the review and approval of licensed products and other licensee materials.
• Manage dispute resolution with licensees and other third parties.

The Essentials
• At least 4-6 years of relevant law firm and/or in-house experience.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and California Bar member.
• Extensive knowledge of digital media.
• Must be well-versed in FTC Testimonial and Endorsement Guides, FTC Native Advertising Guides, COPPA, CARU, privacy, data, behavioral advertising, and intellectual property.
• Must be able to build strong internal client relationships, effectively advise senior-level executives and produce strong client satisfaction through practical and strategic thinking.
• Must be able to evaluate and assess risks under tight time frames.
• Must be able to work independently and juggle multiple projects.
