Meet Our Team: Software engineering teams in WBD's Direct-to-consumer (DTC) division build and deliver applications and services powering the customer experience of products such as MAX, which run on connected TVs, set-top boxes, smartphones, tablets, consoles, PCs, and other streaming devices.
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Staff Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead our Launch Management team. This role is pivotal to ensuring the successful delivery of major product launches, coordinating cross-functional teams, and aligning project milestones to ensure an efficient and seamless launch process. The ideal candidate will have strong program management skills, a technical background, and extensive experience in managing product launches within a complex, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Launch Planning and Execution:
• Develop comprehensive launch plans, defining key milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Oversee end-to-end program management for major product launches, ensuring that all cross-functional teams are aligned on objectives and timelines.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure launches remain on track.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
• Partner closely with engineering, product management, marketing, sales, operations, and support teams to ensure readiness across all departments.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all launch-related activities, facilitating regular touchpoints with stakeholders to update on progress and resolve issues.
• Drive coordination between teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration throughout the launch process.
Program Tracking and Reporting:
• Implement and maintain robust tracking systems to monitor progress, surface potential roadblocks, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Provide clear, concise, and timely reporting on the status of launches to executive leadership, including KPIs, progress, and post-launch performance.
Process Improvement:
• Continuously assess and improve the launch management process, identifying areas for increased efficiency and standardization.
• Develop best practices, documentation, and training to ensure launch processes are optimized and scalable.
Risk Management:
• Proactively identify and manage potential risks that could impact launch timelines, quality, or success.
• Facilitate the development of contingency plans to mitigate risks and keep launches on track.
• Stakeholder Communication:
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities, deliverables, and objectives.
• Lead regular meetings, presentations, and communications to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business) or equivalent work experience; advanced degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of professional experience with at least 5+ years of experience in program management, technical program management, or a similar role with a focus on product launch management.
• Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional product launches from planning to execution.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, MS Project).
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A track record of proactive problem-solving and risk management.
• Technical background or experience working with engineering teams is highly desirable.
