As the Senior Director, Data Science and AI, you will lead the operational direction of artificial intelligence initiatives within our enterprise. Your role will focus on integrating AI, machine learning, and automation technologies to enhance business operations, optimize data-driven decision-making, and spearhead innovative projects. You will manage a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts to deploy scalable AI solutions across various business units. This position is pivotal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about leveraging technology to drive substantial business improvements and innovations.
Your Role Accountabilities:
• Enable the company's overarching strategy for AI and automation, aligning with business goals and technological advancements.
• Lead and coordinate the efforts of the AI and automation departments, ensuring collaboration and cohesion across various projects and initiatives.
• Drive and oversee the collaboration with other technology teams across the organization to seamlessly deliver solutions.
• Advice in the development and implementation of AI systems and frameworks across the organization, ensuring they meet high standards of scalability, usability, and security, provide input and support in defining overall strategy for the organization.
• Monitor industry trends and technological developments in AI and automation to maintain and ensure awareness across multiple technology teams.
• Work with the data team in establishing data readiness for AI adoption and scalability (including Gen AI)
• Establish and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with key technology partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards governing AI and automation along with managing all intake and prioritization activities for AI.
• Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making within the organization.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to AI and data science teams within and across the tower
• Report on the progress, challenges, and successes of AI and automation initiatives to the executive teams as required.
• Ensure enablement and support of proof-of-concept projects across the organization, provide feedback and judge outcomes to determine permanency and value proposition.
Qualifications & Experiences:
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years executive leadership experience in AI, automation, machine learning or related fields within a large and complex organization.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute measurable AI and automation strategies that have a significant positive impact on business outcomes.
• Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of AI, machine learning, data science, and automation technologies.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams across multiple locations and disciplines.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
Not Required but preferred experience:
• Experience in transforming traditional business operations through AI and automation.
• Recognized thought leader in AI, with contributions to industry discussions, publications, or conferences.
