Your New Role...
The Senior Photo Retoucher / Digital Production Artist is responsible for executing high-level photography post-production (retouching, compositing, color grading) on still images from Warner Bros Discovery's portfolio of networks, brands, and corporate initiatives. These are images that are used to promote all types of network and brand projects for marketing, PR and social needs.This is a specialized role that requires an advanced skill level and elevated visual taste to execute beauty retouching and compositing on images of celebrity talent, anchors, athletes and senior executives to be used in national marketing and advertising initiatives for print, digital and on-air. The Senior Digital Production Artist partners with and takes direction from staff photo editors and creative directors on the final look of all imagery.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of photo retouching techniques and advanced experience in Adobe Creative Suite/Photoshop and Capture One Pro by producing high-end retouching of gallery and unit photography for Warner Bros Discovery's portfolio of networks.
• Executes expert-level retouching (including high-end beauty retouching) on photography of celebrity talent, anchors, athletes, and executives and can work quickly and accurately under sometimes extremely tight, same-day deadlines.
• Understands complex lighting and color schemes and can ''reverse engineer'' and mimic retouching work done by others.
• Executes final renderings of complex photo composites for key art and PR usage.
• Executes final key art retouching for web and out of home uses
• Performs advanced level color correcting, color toning/grading (specializing in skin tone grading) and creatively treating photographic images.
• Responsible for overall day-to-day photo production including: raw file processing, batch color correction, image clipping and masking (hair, etc.).
• Performs image resizing and layout adjustments on key art files for streamer usage, including Nielsen/Gracenote.
• Schedules and leads retouching kick-off meetings and retouching approval sessions with the creative director. Manages multiple rounds of changes as necessary to meet the final creative expectations.
• Participates in weekly production meetings and provides input on current retouching projects.
• Prepares appropriate file formats for archiving and uploading to the company wide DAM systems.
Qualifications & Experience...
• Retouching portfolio that showcases before and after images of high-end, complex retouching, composites and examples of beauty/skin retouching- preferably on celebrity talent and key art.
• 6+ years working in Adobe Photoshop with advanced beauty retouching and photo compositing skills. Expert color correcting, color toning/grading and creatively treating photographic images.
• 4+ years executing high-end celebrity retouching--ideally for key art and press for film and television shows.
• Experience working in a high-pressure deadline driven environment.
BFA in Photography, Illustration, Design or related field preferred
• Adobe and Capture One Pro certification preferred
• Expert at retouching skin (maintaining texture and accurate skintones), creating clipping mask (on hair) and replacing/building backgrounds.
• Effective at taking direction from and collaborating with multiple photo editors and creative directors. Flexible and solution oriented.
• Problem solves to find creative solutions and has a strong visual ''take'' and eye for elevating photographs.
• Must be able to accurately execute under same-day deadlines and be available to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
• Software/Hardware knowledge must haves: Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Capture One Pro, Adobe Camera RAW, ICC profiles, basic XMP/Metadata knowledge.
• Workfront, DF Studio and basic file management knowledge helpful.
• A love of film, television and pop culture a plus!
This position is required to work in person at our Atlanta, GA location in the United States.
