Job Overview
As the Senior Manager of Merchandising Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making within our merchandising department. You will be responsible for analysing viewing trends across different metrics together with market insights to
optimize the merchandising strategies and inventory management. By leveraging your expertise in data analysis and strategic thinking, you will empower our merchandising team to make informed decisions that drive engagement and enhance customer viewing experience that in turns help to boost subscriber growth and retention .
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Insights: Utilize data analytics tool to understand viewing behaviour and market trends to identify opportunities for optimization, merchandising strategies, and in-app promotional activities.
Merchandising Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, programming, customer retention management and marketing to develop and execute merchandising strategies aligned with business objectives and market dynamics.
Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of merchandising initiatives and provide regular performance reports and insights to senior leadership.
Help develop frameworks and analyses for assessing key questions facing the business, including such areas as:
• How are our editorial and merchandising decisions impacting show performance.
• What is the optimal way for editorial activities to live alongside machine learning algorithms.
Provide insights to introduce recommendations to all our streaming platforms in order to improve content consumption and increase subscriptions.
Collaborate with other teams, especially Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence, Tech, and Product to build the tools and processes necessary to drive strategy and analysis initiatives.
Help our merchandising teams become data self-sufficient, utilizing metrics, dashboards, and tools to understand performance.
Be an advocate for data-informed decision-making, making recommendations about how content performance should impact our merchandising choices.
How are our editorial and merchandising decisions impacting show performance.
What is the optimal way for editorial activities to live alongside machine learning algorithms.
Qualifications & Experience
• Education: At least Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business , Statistics, Media
or a related field
• Prior Experience / Industry: At least 5 years of experience in Data Analysis and/or Research and Insights Strategy -- particularly in the media and entertainment and / or direct-to-consumer space.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in tools such as Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Excel, and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations .
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates strong management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines and deliver results under pressure.
• Passion for entertainment, love for content and avid viewer, as well as a passion for staying on top of industry trends .
• Bonus points for modelling and statistical knowledge, such as forecasting, AB-testing, or statistical modelling and causal inference.
