Roles & Responsibilities:

WBD DTC's Content Discovery Experience Services team is seeking an experienced and talented Senior DevOps Engineer. As a Senior DevOps Engineer within our Experience Service Tools team, you will play a pivotal role in designing and crafting reusable and globally scalable development, testing, and support processes to maintain high-quality infrastructure as code, ensuring optimal performance, resilience, and scalability to enable our internal users to create, build, and curate dynamic DTC content experiences and to efficiently power our DTC streaming apps.

Your primary focus will be on the editorial and experience tools management of our DTC streaming apps including editorial tools and services that power the video and content experiences for millions of users globally. You will collaborate closely with a highly skilled group of back-end and front-end engineers to support the building and development of the WBD global experience tools and platform and enhance feature support across various products and expansions.

The ideal candidate has a track record of developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality infrastructure and testing methodologies for multiple high-performance, stable, scalable systems that have been successfully shipped to customers in production. You are a collaborative leader that makes other engineers and team members around you more productive, by sharing your knowledge, and helping to tie-break key technical decisions. You have the ability to think like a product lead who builds tools and distributed services that cater to the needs of our internal partners (editorial and merchandising, personalization, search, and content discovery feature teams) with an eye for automation, efficiency, and scale. You have a deep empathy for both internal stakeholders and external customers which rely on and extensively use the tools and services you build and support. You provide mentoring to other engineers.
• Able to conduct system analysis, understand the architecture and the capabilities of the given toolset and technology stack, then proactively improve on it.
• Able to proactively do research and implementation to support development teams and their own individual needs on different tech stacks.
• Familiar with different testing methodologies and tools and able to support both the development and QA teams to automate and improve their testing capabilities.
• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality infrastructure as code, ensuring optimal performance, resilience, and scalability.
• Conduct and lead code reviews, providing mentorship and fostering a positive culture of continuous improvement.
• Be up to date on emerging technologies and industry trends, guiding the integration of relevant advancements into the development process.
• Your success is judged as much on your own productivity as on the positive impact you have on engineers around you.
• You can troubleshoot a production issue by reviewing source code, logs, operational metrics, stack trace, etc. to pinpoint a specific problem and then resolve it. You can identify root causes and identify learnings to improve both development processes and system design.
• You prioritize scalability, extensibility, reliability, and high performance in the development of the infrastructure and testing processes of our services and tools.
• You collaborate across multiple backend and frontend teams to ensure cohesive and efficient system development and architecture design.
• You contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and engineering excellence.

What to Bring:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or Similar discipline.
• 5 to 7+ years of experience as a Software and DevOps engineering for full-stack teams using Java and JavaScript with proficiency in Java development frameworks, including but not limited to Vert.x and Spring Boot and contemporary JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular). Experience with NodeJS, Python are a plus.
• Familiar with the languages of our tools and basic configuration possibilities, build and compilation steps, such as container images, Nodejs, npm packages, Java and pypi.
• Familiar with industry standards regarding releases, rollbacks, and deployments
• Able to build AWS infrastructure from code that is compliant with security, reliability and scalability.
• Has experience with the most common AWS services and cloud native, serverless architectures, such as:
• Serverless, Step Functions, Lambdas, EventBridge
• RDS, Postgres, DynamoDb, S3
• SecretManager
• Has great experience and advanced knowledge regarding Git and Github usage, APIs and scripting, especially the usage of Github Actions to build CICD pipelines.
• Has practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): advanced level of Terraform and Terragrunt, and additional CloudFormation.
• Can work comfortably with the NodeJs, Typescript and the usual tooling such as esbuild, webpack, npm
• Has experience with code analyzers, such as SonarCloud
• Has advanced knowledge of monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• Ability to work with minimal instructions on day-to-day work, able to consume and self- start with general instructions on new assignments. Participates in an inclusive and supportive engineering culture.
