Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Accountant for the Studio Controllership Home Entertainment accounting team. This Sr. Accountant reports to the VP and will assist with 3rd party and intercompany participations and reporting.
Your Role Accountabilities:
1. Monthly/Quarterly Financial Close:
• Act as the point person for HBO Home Entertainment Intercompany entries and reporting in Oracle for revenue, expenses, fees, participations, residuals and pre-paid reclasses. Provide quarterly Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon reporting to the FCRA Participations team. Submit quarterly financial schedules to CFR including Performance Obligations and Revenue by Geography. Complete monthly geography reclass in the HANA S4 system.
• Oversee the monthly Intercompany Participation and Netdown entries in SAP and by-title submissions for HBO and Turner Domestic, International and Digital profit centers. Partner with the offshore Capgemini team to prepare and review the entries. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of deadlines.
• Provide MTD, QTD and LTD Third-Party Reporting to MGM, BBC, Viz Media, WWE by running reports and performing financial statement reviews including net profit summaries and inventory balances and activity. Work closely with the FCRA Participations team to perform quarterly reconciliations of the Third-Party Participations Statements.
• Reconciler of HBO general ledger balance sheet accounts for monthly Cadency Reconciliations in accordance with the Warner Bros. Discovery Account Reconciliation Policy.
2. Special Projects:
• Complete ad-hoc legal requests to provide revenue data by format, by country and by title.
• Provide statement-based reports to offshore resources to book participations expense when payments are made.
• Responsible for coding invoices to vendors in SAP related to Home Entertainment payments and purchase orders.
• Perform HBO Home Entertainment audit requests as necessary.
• Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis, including process improvement initiatives, as determined by internal management.
Qualifications & Experiences:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in accounting or related financial area.
• Utilizes advanced analytical skills and draws keen insights from the data.
• Strong data analytics, contract interpretation, and written communication skills
• Successfully manages multiple deadline-driven projects.
• Uses thorough logic and methods as well as business knowledge to solve problems.
• Raises conflicts and concerns to supervisor; makes suggestions to management regarding how to resolve.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers, other levels of personnel and outside clients.
• Embrace and thrive during change.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Not Required but preferred experience:
• CPA preferred.
• Media and Entertainment industry preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP (including Business Warehouse).
