Job Description
The Senior Accountant – Consolidation will be a part of the team responsible for performing the global consolidation and financial reporting of the Company, facilitating the close of the accounting books, generating financial statements in compliance with US GAAP, and compiling information for other governmental reporting requests, this is a system centric role.
Your Role Accountabilities
• Assists with the preparation of the company's financial statements and reporting (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, etc.), including internal, external (SEC Filings, census), and joint venture reporting.
• Facilitates the global close through continuous review of consolidation status, financials, and tie-outs.
• Provides audit and other documentation as requested from internal and external auditors (including SOX controls), tax, financial planning and analysis, etc.
• Prepares consolidation journal entries, system reconciliations, and other ad hoc requests as necessary on a timely and accurate basis
• Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience and a strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), IFRS, and SOX requirements
• Strong system application knowledge
• Experience with the preparation of financial statements
• BS/BA in related discipline from an accredited university
• CPA license (or equivalent) attained or progress toward attainment.
• Proficient in English
• Detailed-oriented with a strong desire to meet deadlines and other relevant performance metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Data driven
Not Required but preferred experience:
• Big 4 / Public accounting background
• Experience with the financial consolidation of an SEC registrant
• Experience working directly with external auditors to resolve complex accounting and reporting issues
• Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP
