Your new role:
The Warner Bros. Discovery UK and Ireland Publicity department constantly strives to create and maintain a best-in-class position within the industry. The publicity team is tasked with strategically positioning, promoting but also protecting the launch of all WBD titles.
This is an important role to the Publicity and Marketing department, demanding an accomplished event planner who can drive the delivery of standout events over the full WBD slate. The Events Manager will report to the Head of Events implementing all elements of event activities for WBD in the UK and supporting the Irish team.
Your role accountabilities:
The Events Manager will be required to:
• Support the Head of Events on all events for tentpole film titles including but not limited to premieres, experiential, photo calls, costume displays and lead on wider business screening production and talent dinners
• Lead on all digital events and non-tentpole physical events across the film slate as above with limited oversight from the Head of Events
• Lead on all non-film WBD events as needed with limited oversight from the Head of Events
The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate related experience in:
• Assigning production teams and agencies with creative brief, event timelines and overall budget management with limited oversight
• Managing operational, logistical, and technical elements of big scale events
• Being hugely creative and developing event ideas which will cut through in the marketplace
• Championing innovation and identifying new opportunities for campaigns, process and the team whilst maximising any cross divisional opportunities within the Film department and the Franchise, TV, Catalogue and Games teams alongside wider WBD divisions
• Overseeing talent, guest, and hospitality requirements
• Overseeing ticketing processes
• COVID event protocol and support
• Extensive legal paperwork and delivery
• Briefing freelancers on projects and overseeing their work
• Logistical oversight on tours
Qualifications & Experience:
• Has huge attention to detail and can multitask over several projects at once
• Work hand in hand with the Head of Events over the full slate of events
• Communicate fluently with:
• The PR team in the UK and Ireland
• Key business leads across the business
• Senior Executives in the UK, EMEA and Burbank
• Employed agencies to facilitate campaigns and deliver results
• Create and deliver presentation decks on events showcasing event plans for UK based premieres, experiential events, dinners, post event receptions, etc….
• Event Organising Experience: Strong events experience, ideally within film, but will also consider entertainment experience
• Self-Motivation: Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively under time constraints and in a pressured environment. Also willing to work unsociable hours where necessary
• Flexibility: As above, must be able to adjust working style and hours at short notice given the changing work environment of publicity
• Communication Skills: Critical particularly in supplier relations. You should have excellent negotiation skills. You should also have strong written skills for documents/emails with the ability to write clear and concise press information
• Planning and Organising: Must be highly organised and a proactive planner
• Results Orientation: Must strive to achieve highest results in demanding and fast paced environment
• Decision-making: Must be able to think on their feet and make quick/logical decisions
• Commercial Acumen: Must have a demonstrable understanding of the importance of maintaining brand integrity and experience of financial and budget oversight
