This key role in Network Origination Services, reporting into the Director of On-Air Production Services, is responsible for planning and overseeing the execution of live broadcasts on linear/cloud-based Free to Air WBD brands and Eurosport brands across UK and Nordics and for supporting and supervising both full-time and freelance On-Air Producers.
The role will work closely on overseeing the day to day running of our local live event portfolio, ensuring seamless broadcasts from the initial booking through information gathering to the live on-air. They champion communication, workflows, commercial acumen, prioritise quality content, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures. They manage the training of existing and new team-members ensuring great standards of delivery. The On-Air Production Services team is highly agile and multi-skilled, and the right candidate will bridge together the various functions within the team, ensuring collaboration and information-sharing as well as continued flexibility in moving with business requirements.
The On-Air Production Services Team is a crucial point of contact with clients in the UK, the Nordic markets, and the Paris office. The BCP will bring together stakeholders across markets and departments to collaborate, troubleshoot issues and ideate on workflows. They will participate and increasingly lead meetings with clients, ensuring their requirements are captured and expectations met. They will spearhead collaboration also amongst their own wider department of Network Origination Services, as well as other T&O stakeholders such as LTH Operations.
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Oversee the smooth day to day running of some 10,000 hours of live broadcasts per year.
• Liaise with Bookings, Editorial, Network Scheduling, Production, Commentary Coordination, and clients across markets, ensuring information required by the On-Air Producers and Live Playout Ops. during live events is passed on via efficient mediums of communication and information sharing platforms.
• Manage training of new team members and plan training schedules to meet deadlines for peak times in service, such as Top Tier Football Competitions and Olympics.
• Promote continuous information flow across teams through written and in-person communication.
• Oversee writing and maintaining the Standard Operating Procedures and initiate and manage conversations with wider teams on improving workflows and processes.
• Follow up and address on-air issues and make recommendations on workflows concerning the On-Air Production responsibilities.
• Establish regular communication with the regional business, and across T&O departments with a focus on service, supporting their needs and requirements.
• Provide support on Line Manager's absence, ensuring that clients in territory have expectations met and that workflows are maintained.
• Deputising for Line Management in certain meetings
• Take on additional project work as and when needed to support the wider business.
Qualifications & Experience…
• At least 3 years' experience working in a Live broadcast environment.
• Excellent people and interpersonal skills, good team player.
• Confident interacting with management.
• Good insight and understanding of the End-to-End Broadcast chain.
• Proactive trouble-shooter and a problem solver.
• Self-starter, highly motivated with leadership skills .
• Capable of decision making and maintaining high performance while working under pressure.
• Great organization skills with outstanding attention to details.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and avid computing skills.
• A passion for Live Sport is an advantage.
Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
