The Job

Prepares and reviews residual cast setups and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations. Assists with guild payments, claims, and special projects as required.

The Daily – Major Activities
• Maintain Show Folders: Gather required documentation from individual productions and internal/external payroll companies, including contracts, time sheets, cast lists, final credits, and pay logs necessary to set up casts in the AIRS system and enable residual payments to be generated.
• Configure Casts in AIRS System: Based on collected documentation, configure casts in the AIRS system. Review cast setups to ensure proper rates and bases are calculated. Depending on the payment schedule (weekly, monthly), prepare payments by Union and/or by market and review payments for accuracy. Make necessary adjustments to cast setup or airdates and regenerate payments as needed.
• Contractual Compliance: Ensure payments adhere to contractual rules and set up programs before payments are initiated.
• Document Collection: Collect production documents as needed.
• Contract Reading: Read and interpret contracts accurately to ensure compliance and proper setup.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams, guilds, and external partners to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth processing of residuals payments. Respond to inquiries and provide support as needed.

The Essentials
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Experience: At least 1 year of previous accounting, audit, financial, legal, or related experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Windows applications, particularly Excel and Word. Familiarity with the AIRS system or similar software is a plus.
• Knowledge: Must quickly develop a good understanding of residuals rules and industry standards.
• Legal Aptitude: Ability to read and understand legal agreements with minimal training.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

The Nice to Haves
• Additional Experience:
• 1 – 2 years of previous experience with participations or residuals.
• 1 – 2 years of entertainment industry-related experience
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Professional Development: Eagerness to learn and grow within the entertainment finance field, with an interest in continuous improvement and professional development.
