Your New Role...

T T Games are looking for an Advanced Technical Designer with proven technical design experience on console or PC titles, to take on a key role on an exciting new LEGO game based on a major IP.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Technical designer with advanced, in-depth expertise within discipline. A key role that is responsible for one or more distinct areas of project contribution.
• Sets the highest standards for quality, productivity, initiative and teamwork.
• Able to provide direction to internal and external staff. Influences work product quality on the team and seeks to improve the knowledge and performance of others.
• Exceptional at creating complex technical and/or visual game content that respects game performance and engine integration constraints, as well as respecting other departments' inputs. Where appropriate to role - has outstanding creative flare, a great eye for detail - with in-depth knowledge of animation techniques and game-feel.
• Where relevant to role determines technical or creative approaches and/or develops new or enhanced concepts, process and tools - and documenting them.
• Has a clear vision of how products should function/appear and the ability to implement this vision.
• Provides ideas and pushes competitive practices. May participate in creating and managing schedules and determining project benchmarks. May interact with and/or provide direction to internal and external resources. May be involved in the planning and execution of project goals.
• Has authority to take action to resolve issues or problems within the scope of their position. Has a thorough knowledge of factors impacting decisions. Identifies multiple solutions and determines the most effective course of action. Draws on extensive experience to solve complex problems using sound judgment.
• Acts as a mentor and role model. Actively shares knowledge within area of expertise and influences other related disciplines. Provides training, guidance and/or direction to less experienced employees and reviews or provides feedback on their work.
• Documenting without prompted and actively pushing training and upping of quality within the team.
• Work is subject to management review at defined intervals. Work is also evaluated relative to overall project targets/success.
• Assignments are complex and varied in scope. Responsible for helping define the scope of work for assigned tasks. Makes significant contributions to large, complex areas of the project.
• Advanced ability to time manage and has great proactivity.
• Advanced ability to skillfully and diligently implement, manipulate, and tune content in the game engine - which respect game performance and engine integration constraints.
• Possesses strong knowledge of game design principles such as environment, directing player experience, player behaviour, game progression and pacing, etc.
• Actively seeks out products and trends of relevant competitors. Proavtively deconstructing competitive game design elements, with great understanding the relationship with player experience and satisfaction.
• Advanced understanding of the content creation pipeline from design to implementation in the game engine, with strong knowledge of other development disciplines and their inputs into the content pipeline.
• Owns implementation for a system or area of responsibility. Works frequently and effectively with content creators ensuring areas of responsibility are within scope and remit of tech design.
• Works in collaboration with other disciplines to find solutions to the constraints or requirements identified by other disciplines (e.g. memory usage).
• Works effectively across disciplines to analyse and solve complex issues for self and others.
• Adept with estimating time and requirements for deliverables.
• Able to write clear and concise documentation. Providing detailed Jira tasks where needed – to ensure prompt resolution.
• Able to carry out complex tasks quickly and efficiently with limited oversight.
• Will proactively identify workflow inefficiencies, ensuring these are followed up, actioned and eventually rolled out to the wider team.
• Highly adept at researching, prototyping and creating new shaders, systems, pipelines, etc.
• Highly skilled with assessing feasibility, schedule, performance, etc. of new tools and systems.
• Able to establish standards and develop effective integration plans with other disciplines or groups. Able to identify best practices in the industry.
• Creates exceptional technical and functional specifications.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
