Job Description
Walt Disney Animation Studios is looking for inspired Crowd Artists, with strong artistic abilities layered on top of solid technical foundations, to work on populating our features with world-class crowds. They will be part of the film-making process from asset creation through early shot layout to final rendering.
Responsibilities:
• Support the story by populating scenes with crowd character assets and animation
• Collaborate with peers to address creative and technical notes
• Identify opportunities to share knowledge and educate others on the production process
• Develop and maintain crowds technology and tools
• Design crowd character behaviors and set ups
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Engineering, and related fields, or equivalent experience
• Understanding of rigging and animation techniques
• Strong interest in Particle Systems, AI/Machine learning, or crowds systems (agent/brain design, simulation, and behavior)
• Experience with commercial graphics packages such as Maya and Houdini
• Solid understanding of the production processes and pipelines of CG Animation, VFX, or Video Game productions
• Ability to work with a team and collaborate closely with others within the department and other departments
• Strong problem solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python
• Experience with the Linux or Unix operating system
• Experience with Object Oriented programming such as C++ a plus

The pay rate for this role in Burbank, CA is $56.38 - $67.28 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
