Job Description

CAFE is looking for an Editorial Producer for the Stay Tuned podcast hosted by former Manhattan US Attorney Preet Bharara. We're looking for candidates with a keen interest in the intersection of news, law, politics, and policy. The producer will be responsible for producing episodes from concept to publication, including pitching, booking, and prepping. The producer will also draft related content for CAFE's newsletters and website

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Write deeply researched memos to prepare host(s) for interviews, and draft scripts for hosts.
• Actively pitch guests and story ideas, book guests, and coordinate logistics for recordings
• Oversee tapings and post-production, ensuring that episodes meet CAFE's production and editorial standards.
• Write copy for CAFE's newsletters and social media channels. Generate creative ideas for marketing and promotion, both for specific episodes and the programs overall.
• Propose ideas for and help produce limited series.
• Additional duties as assigned.

WHO YOU ARE

The ideal candidate for this position has a legal, policy, or politics background and some media or journalism experience. New law school graduates, think tank fellows, and aides to high-profile individuals in the political arena are strongly encouraged to apply. So if you're a campaign staffer, a speechwriter, a producer on a news program, a young lawyer no longer interested in practicing law, or have a similar professional background, we're looking at you!
• Outstanding news judgment and knowledge of current events
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills
• Ability to explain complicated issues to a lay audience
• Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines and work simultaneously on multiple projects

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.

$77,000 — $88,000 USD
